AN OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME A CERTIFIED BBQ CONTEST JUDGE

The 2009 Eagle BBQ Cook off and Spudfest is pleased to offer an opportunity for  local citizens to become  Kansas City BBQ Society certified BBQ judges. Learn how to evaluate world class competitive BBQ just like you have seen on the TV coverage of other competitions nationwide.
The class will be held August 20th. At Lake Harbor on State St. in Boise. The class will be taught by Ed Roith who is a long time BBQ competitor and one of the founders of the Kansas City BBQ Society.

The class is a “hands-on” method of teaching you how to judge all of the 4 meats evaluated in a KCBS competition. Chicken, ribs, pork, and brisket will be prepared for evaluation.
Cost of the 4 hour class is $75.00 which includes your first year membership in the Kansas City BBQ Society.

Successful completion of the class will be followed by an invitation to actually judge the Eagle BBQ Cookoff and Spudfest over Labor Day weekend. This is a state championship and in addition to thousands of dollars in prize money, the Grand Champion of this state championship will qualify for the “mega contests” such as the American Royal in Kansas City and the Jack Daniels world championships in Lynchburg Tennessee.

The class will be limited to 25 students, so get your tuition in early and insure your participation in the process of becoming a certified BBQ judge where you will enhance your own ability to prepare and appreciate “world class BBQ”.
